Why should I create an account on the aGathering site?
If you only wish to view the site there is no benefit to you in creating an account. However, if you would like to comment on images – which we do encourage – if you are not logged in you will need to type in your name, email address and captcha text each time you wish to comment.
How can I create an account on the aGathering site?
There are two ways to create an account – a ‘standalone’ aGathering account where you create a user name and password which is recognised solely on this site or, if you are a member of a Social Networking site (such as Facebook) and are often signed in to the site, the easiest way is to use your social network credentials.
At the top right of each page of the site you’ll see the ‘Login/Register’ tab – click that to open the login panel. To register a standalone account use the ‘Register’ section. To use your social network click on the appropriate icon at the bottom of the ‘Welcome’ panel. If we do not offer a link to your preferred social network please use our Contact page to let us know and we’ll add it if possible. If you have already created a standalone account but would like to link it to your social network, you may link them by editing your profile (from the login panel once you are logged in) to ensure you have used the same email address on aGathering and your social network, log out then select your social network from the login panel and your accounts will be automatically linked.
How can I change my password?
Once you’ve logged into your account, click on the ‘User Options’ link to the right of the ‘Log out’ link. Click on the ‘Profile’ link under the Welcome message. This is your personal profile page.
Scroll down and enter your new password in the ‘New Password’ field. When you tab to the ‘Confirm Password’ field and start typing (to repeat your new password) a red ‘Mismatch’ button will display below. This button will change to grey once you’ve finished typing, as long as the two passwords match. If it stays red, type both fields in again. Once they match, and you’ve made any other profile changes you wish to make, click on the ‘Update Profile’ button to save your changes.
Why are the images too big/too small on my screen?
You can change any website’s display resolution within your browser to suit the site you are viewing. If you use Firefox or Internet Explorer, with the site showing, if you hold down the ‘Ctrl’ key and click on ‘0’ the display is returned to its native (ie. not zoomed in or out) resolution, if it wasn’t there already. By holding down the ‘Ctrl’ key while clicking the ‘+’ key you zoom in on the page, and clicking ‘-’ zooms out. In Chrome, use ‘Ctrl’ + and – to zoom in and out – in the bar at the top it tells you the % of zoom.
