This time it was Meg’s lounge I turned into a studio.
One of the big challenges I’ve found photographing jewellery with a macro at close quarters is the depth of field issue. But not anymore!!!
I’ve almost completely converted to Affinity Photo and Capture One 10 Pro, from those other Adobe products. I’m in love with Affinity – it’s doing everything I want and more, plus is super fast. Focus Stacking in Affinity Photo is amazing – in seconds it’s taken all the images and stacked and masked them perfectly so now we can get full front to back sharpness. Loving it!
Then there’s the export feature – so simple to export multiple file formats and dimensions at once, you can stack them all up and save for future reference, edit and add to them. I can also export multiple slices (crops) without changing the picture. Smart!
And the content aware fill brush (no stupid selections and multiple steps, just brush stuff away), got rid of me out of those reflections no sweat.
More shameless plugs 😉
