Degas and the Hat

The Metropolitan Museum is huge and in one visit you can only scratch the surface. We went on a guided tour and then just wandered around.

I ended up in a room full of work by Degas. People came and went but I stayed for some time. So did this bloke in his hat.

So what would Degas himself think of the huge range of people who come and take in his impressions of the dance class?

I also discovered afterwards that another series of paintings that Degas made were of people visiting the galleries of Paris.

  1. Very cleaver observation (and capture) of what can go on in art galleries Ian. Did seeing great art works inspire you afterwards photographically?
