This image is about simple delights.

I saw these fake flowers in a room that just happened to be full of lovely soft window light and spent a couple of minutes photographing them.

Looking at the images on my computer I was surprised by how much I liked them. The flowers and the vase are probably about $5 worth and they just fill a space on the glass coffee table but in the right light they came to life.

For me thatโ€™s the joy of photography โ€“ we notice that sort of stuff.

  2. Awesome Ian

  3. Yes, there is beauty all around us. I think that photography teaches us to slow down and see and absorb our surroundings everywhere. I like shapes and high key nature of your image, Ian

  4. Classic example of relaxed and attentive and not being too subject oriented – being open minded.
Love it. Simple but strong – lines, colour and negative space.

  5. yes we are surrounded by fake flowers , real flowers, imaginary flowers, and flowers that could be flowers if we think about them from a different angle. I think you are right, the joy , and the power, is in the looking and finding. We are very lucky we can do this .. without unnecessary drugs.
