The story goes that an Irish giant (Finn MacCool – a great name!!) was challenged to a fight by a Scottish giant. Finn accepted the challenge and built the causeway across the North Channel so that the two giants could meet. Things didnt go well and Finn needed a bit of irish cunning to escape. In the end the causeway was smashed and this is what remains.

We were there in misty overcast conditions – I couldnt have asked for a better day.

  1. Ian, you certainly captured the mood and story in this one. I am captivated by the lack of horizon and the space it creates. Mysterious comes to mind.

  2. It is am magical place, many years ago I Kayaked around this area, misty day like this. Thanks for sharing it brought back fond memories Ian.

  3. I love those conditions – it simplifies.
