Visiting the Sagrada Famila has been on my bucket list. This week I finally got there with Fiona. I found the tourists distracting but managed to find the headspace to put them aside and concentrate on the sheer beauty of Gaudi’s creation. As an artist I was so inspired by his work. To witness creativity realised in such completeness on such a grand scale is one of the most humbling things I have ever known.

This image is not what I set out to make but it captures the essence of the place for me – icons of faith, nature and light. I hope you enjoy it.

  1. Stunning Bruce. Am so glad you got there and that it lived up to your expectations.

  2. Bruce, I agree. It is so inspiring. When we visited I had to take off my “less is more” filter and put on “God is in the detail” filter – and wow is there detail!

  3. Bruce, your image is very different to the many I have seen over the years. Absolutely “your view”. It is difficult to find a unique view when so much has been written and posted about this magnificent building. I have already sent information about the “Burry” connection to this magnificent place to Bruce but there might be others who would be interested. Here it is if you might like to read it. It is an article about Mark Burry’s involvement since the late 1970’s.
