“Myth has been dismissed – even defined – as primitive superstition by a youthful, scientific culture whose extraordinary rapid success in the material sphere had gone to its head. But now myth is in the process of being reinstated as the respectable vehicle of the unconscious, conveying not primitive understandins of the external world, but man’s universal sensing of his own inner world, much of which now lies unconscious for most of the time.” – Gaston Saint Pierre
Most myths and legends involve an element of journey – of leaving or confronting something – in order to unveil previously unknown aspect or levels of awareness of a protagonist. In so doing we unfold the secrets of our existence buried in our originating depths.
