It’s time to share my love of monochrome. I thought this image was an appropriate one for such treatment. I just love the textures. The shape and patterns in the flow of the sand drew me towards the grasses on the dunes at Farewell Spit earlier this year.

  1. Barbara, monochrome brings out form and is just right for this image.

  2. I like that it shows gritty, crunchy detail in the sand yet also handles the softness in the distant cloud.

  3. Yes, lovely texture and pattern, but also great flow and well captured. Your composition and treatment really draws the eye in, through/across then back around for a repeat treat! I love texture shots- well, probably closer to obsessed! To me, not ‘just texture’, but also ‘flow’. 🙂

  4. Barbara, yes, flow, texture, composition. All round very interesting!

  5. Love this Barbara, tone, textures, wonderful B&W.
