“Winter” was taken on the top of Mt Eden, one morning when it was very misty & the sun was struggling to make its presence felt through occasional gaps in the cloud. I chose this image as it conveys to me a real sense of winter. I always love the mood that mist portrays & of course the silhouette of a single tree.

  1. Love the drama in this Kirsty, but offset by the grass and mist – for some reason it doesn’t sing ‘winter’ to me, but actually makes me smile!

  2. Hi Kirsty – I love the gnarly feel of this tree and the upward looking point of view also works well. But Im like Sarah and winter isnt what springs to mind for me – the grass is too green and the sky too blue. Perhaps its our south island view of an Auckland winter!!!

Great picture though and welcome to aGathering

  3. I like the contrast of the fine twigs and the heavier branches.
