Although my spirit may wander the four corners of the earth,
Let it come back to me again so that I may live and journey here.

Although my spirit may go far away over the sea,
Let it come back to me again so that I may live and journey here.

Although my spirit may go far away to the flashing beams of light,
Let it come back to me again so that I may live and journey here.

Although my spirit may go far away to visit the sun and the dawn,
Let it come back to me again so that I may live and journey here.

Although my spirit may go far away to distant realms,
Let it come back to me again so that I may live and journey here.

Although my spirit may go far away to all that is and is to be,
Let it come back to me again so that I may live and journey here.

Although my spirit may wander in the valley of death,
Let it come back to me again so that I may live and journey here.

taken from a verse from the ancient Rig Veda articulating this eternal song.

  1. As a meditator I like the “living here” theme in the poem. The blue in the image is calming but the pattern still conveys the journey aspect.
There is deep thinking going on in many of your more recent posts. (re-reading that, I do not mean there wasn’t in your earlier work!).

  2. Pauline, I love the spiritual nature of your imagery. You take those who are receptive to a different plane. I love how you do that. This image, in particular, resonates with me. It is the blue, the fluidity, the hard and the soft, the textures. All things that trigger my emotional/spiritual response. I look at this for ages and my “mind” just leaves this realm – that wandering spirit your quotation refers to. Thank you so much for that.

  3. I just love these gentle images of yours Pauline; they are just so expressive and allowing of freedom of the spirit – and your wonderful quotation adds to that

  4. This immediately reminded me of the surface of the ocean – it has an endless feel but the depth beyond the surface is what the image is all about.

    Then I saw the girl…….

  5. Compelling image, I have come back to it a few times over the last couple of days, we all see images through different eyes, an image like this takes me on a journey, for me I see wind blown snow across a glacier, cold but a warm place awaiting at the other side. Thank you for sharing!
