We were recently in Papua New Guinea, one of my favorite diving destinations. Our favorite dive guide, Albert, was about to leave work for the day and begin his 2hour canoe ride home to his village. So I ran out to get a few photos. As he and his brother were sharing this bettelnut (not sure if that’s how to spell it), Michelangelo’s painting “God and Man” flashed through my head. I quickly was trying to adjust the f-stop, then realized I was going to miss it completely if I fiddled any further. So here’s what it was in the moment and it’s a perfect memory to me. 🙂

  1. Just the moment. Glad you followed your heart!

  2. That connection as the hands are just about to join is quite poignant. Especially when precariously balance on the water 🙂

  3. A very touching emotion – even if their hands are not quite touching. And that is what makes this image for me
