I was lucky enough to have a few days in London. We did the major tourist attractions but I hardly ever do the “postcard” shots because I can never do them justice. So I am calling this series London Asides – they are not the main attractions but things I noticed on the side while visiting those attractions and grabbed quickly as we moved on.
This image is of interesting paving at the Tower of London – I liked the pattern and the back lighting and then enhanced the image with Nik.

  1. To me this says more about London than any “postcard”

  2. I’m with Ian on this – these are the views I treasure more. This brings to mind the treacherously slippery marble cobbles in Trogir, I lagged behind our speedy guide/baggage carrier there entranced by the light across them like this.

  3. I am consistently impressed by how you see these great shapes. You have perfected the simplicity of monochrome to tell a great story

  4. Great light, simple design, capturing the essence of a place. I feel the echoes so strongly.

  5. This is a lovely graphic mono image with beautiful tones. Love the way the cobblestones stop abruptly, which leaves me wondering what is beyond them in the darkness.
