We arrived early to beat the rush of tourists in Bath. I stopped to photograph an interesting shop frontage across the road when this chap stopped to chat. He wanted to make sure we didn’t miss the painted window a couple of doors down, where the owners had painted a window on a brick wall where a window had once been – the window ledge was still there – it was very realistic. But meanwhile, I asked him if I could photograph him. He planted himself squarely in front of me and grinned. The twinkle in his eyes never left his face.
