I didn’t manage to get to this years PSNZ conference, which was a pity, but I had a very good reason for not going.

My Mum has just turned 80 and we had a big family reunion which we hosted at our place. There were 50 or so Uncles, Aunts and Cousins most of whom I had not seen for some time. It was a day not to be missed and reinforced to me that family is everything.

Mum had made name badges colour coded by generation and Neivh had a colour all to herself. Neivh is my nephews daughter which I think makes me a great uncle.

The next day a smaller group of us got together again and this time I took my camera. Along with some more conventional photos I made this with my lensbaby. In photoshop with a clone tool and some textures this image came to life and it will always remind me of a special time.

  1. Nice story. Great treatment of the subject. I need some lessons from you on textures so I can “mess up” some of my hard edge images.

  2. Lovely sensitive image. You have created a gentle moment for all your family to remember forever.

  3. Like 🙂

  4. Love it Ian. So refreshingly different.
