This boatshed in in Hoopers Inlet on the Otago Peninsula.
Ferg and I went to check it out having heard that it is “the” place to photograph the night sky and any aurora activity that may be around. This jetty is orientated due south and the roof of the shed repeats the pattern of the hills making a great foreground for the southern sky.
But it wasn’t dark and there didn’t seem much hope of a magic golden hour so fish’n’chips and a beer won out and we left. But I know where to go so one day the stars will align and Ill come back.
In the meantime a few photoshop tweaks produced something I quite like……
