Acrylic & Ink, 37 x 28cm on watercolour paper

Originally from Havelock North, NZ, I lived for many years in Sydney before moving to France, and am now living in the beautiful Peloponnese region of Greece.  I’m lucky to be able to move back and forth between these places, and am constantly rewarded with wonderful new subject matter. I currently paint in acrylics, with the liberal use of ink and also enjoy exploring other mixed media and collage techniques.
So much of Greece is about the sea, and everywhere there are boats. They come in all shapes, sizes and colours, particularly the traditional fishing boats, but it was this line of rather dilapidated little dinghies that caught my eye recently when visiting Methoni Castle. They looked all ready to go, waiting forlornly….
