Two items ago I showed an image of a totem pole in Canada. This is nearer to home.
On a boat trip around the sounds and a brief visit to Ships Cove I do not come back with landscape or seascape images. Rather, what caught my attention were the two curving lines on this pole – one white and one black. In post I have accentuated the features that I was attracted to.

  1. I love the complex simplicity

The image shows us what it was that caught your attention yet there is much that is unsaid and we must decide for ourselves what this is really about.

  2. When I look at my work on comparison to yours John I feel that mine is so rowdy whereas yours is so beautiful and elegant. One day I hope to be as elegant as you. Keep inspiring me John it’s good for me.

    • I often find that our work very much reflects our personality and this is calm and peaceful, just like John. A self portrait in some way.

  3. I like your subject matter and the fact that you have chosen this particular aspect. I would probably have missed the energy that you obviously recognised.

  4. Agreed!

  5. I like that you have shown one black and one white line flowing together.

  6. I like the way you have used light & Dark in this image to generate emotion, I get moved the more Iook at this ,great job, John.
