Dancer in White

When I was a little girl I wanted to be a dancer.  As life progressed I realised that I was musically dyslexic and with it went an ability to dance accordingly.  If I was allowed a swan song though it would involve a grand ball room lined with all the favourite people in my world, I would be dressed in a gorgeous long ball gown, beautiful shoes, long white gloves and my handsome partner, Blue, would be standing alone in the centre of the room and I would walk the length of it to greet him.  The orchestra would be playing the Blue Danube Waltz and the pair of us would gracefully dance a dance that told the story of our love and our lives together.

  1. Fantastic. I sure am a romantic too!

  2. Having spent time with you and Blue and having seen how wonderful you are together makes this very special. Your image and story could be metaphor for your dance of life together. Most beautiful.

  3. My first reaction to this image ( before reading anything) was that it seemed more formal than a usual Pauline picture.
The 4×5 crop, the subject right in the middle and the sweeping uniform lines all feel formal. Beautiful in a different way.
Then I read your story and smiled as I picture you and Blue in a wonderful country hall. Beautiful and very formal

  4. I guess the real dance is unseen. It only happens between two souls.

  5. I’ve always had this same dream!! – the ball gown, the waltz, albeit with a partner of a different name~ 🙂
