This will surprise you all – there are trees on Norfolk Island!!!

I have been playing with texture overlays recently and I am enjoying the results.
For me the use of such techniques emphasise to the viewer that I am showing them what it felt like, rather than what it looked like. Clearly the clouds and the grasses did not look that way.
Just last week I was told that on aGathering we make “images that evoke rather than images that declare “.(thanks Gordon).
I like that.

  1. Nice, simple but captivating, make a wonderful print

  2. I really like the way the texture has worked on this Ian. I’ve recently seen some amazing landscapes completely transformed to the authors vision using the same technique, but in a very very bold way. Magic interpretation this one of yours.

  3. Ian, I do like this interpretation very much. Lines and folds in foreground work so well too. Very evocative landscape for me.

  4. Yes, we do have trees on Norfolk Island especially N.I. Pine Trees 🙂
