Many Lives

I have a series of photographs made in the Angkor temples that I am working on based around this theme. Given the Hindu and Buddhist background to the temples it seems relevant.

In this image the succession of small spaces linked by doorway openings suggest to me a flow from one life to another. The Yoni and Linga objects in the centre are female and male symbols and form a fertility symbol, the mechanism of birth into each life. Each space has its own pool of light.

  1. I do like the ghosting of the people as they move into the spaces between.

  2. Beautiful symbolism Tim for a journey. A adding to this is the light barrier in the middle – a portal perhaps.
