I know sunsets have to be pretty special to stand out from the crowd.  I think this one is nice, but nothing special, except to me.  We were standing on the hill above Alexandra.  We nearly didn’t go out – we were full from a lovely dinner, and a couple of wines – it would have been so much easier to stay on our backsides.  But the evening was beautiful.  The sky lit up with burning fluffy bits.  This was not one of those images.  The little bit of land in the corner improves the context for me and the sky is a rainbow of colours.  It’s a bit different and a bit special.

  1. Vicki. We make images for our own special reasons. Sunsets are very special to me too. Something about that tdransition from busy day to night. It’s gentle, beautiful and a wind down when special things happen. I love the arrangement of dark clouds and that sliver of land is genius.

  2. I understand what you are saying here. For me a major part of the enjoyment of photography is the experience of being “out there” with the camera.
