I made this image six months or so ago and I wasnt really sure what I thought of it. So I printed it and stuck it to the wall above my computer – its still there and has grown on me.

In our household, over the past couple of weeks, we have had a run of things not really going our way. Nothing disastrous, just things that on another day might have turned out differently.

The issue is that is such circumstances it is easy to focus on the negative things.

I looked at this image and noticed that a single shaft of sunlight can transform a dull, dark and gloomy scene into something interesting with a focus point of positivity.

Just like life really…… and the key is to always be on the lookout for the shaft of sunlight.

  1. Ian, this is a great example of what research has shown – that the right images can make a favourable change in our mood. Thanks for the reminder. It is on my to-do list and I have now moved it up higher so it might actually get done!

  2. Well said 🙂

  3. As I scroll down it crops out a bit of the grey which makes it look a bit more pleasing. But maybe thats why it needs to be there. that process reinforces your message.

    • I think you are right about the crop- down from the top makes more of a window to look through at the mountains and the sunlight
