Randomly Assigned

We are staying with family in the New England state of New Hampshire, USA. The architecture is very distinctive with heavy emphasis on weatherboard cladding. Dave, Ian and Ferg, there would be no trouble finding practice exercises using lines (weatherboard) and shapes (windows and doors). What interests me is that while there is the uniform pattern of the weatherboards, the location of the windows appear almost randomly assigned when observing them from the outside – although they clearly serve the appropriate purpose for the rooms inside.

  1. As a designer, I am faced with this issue often.  Inside vs outside.  They are not he same. There is always some compromise .  How relevant is hat to our own lives

  2. A simple approach but somehow the story is very strong. I am left wanting more, always good for the viewer.
