Tied up & forgotten, “The Miro”, left to the elements & the seagulls.
I like this boat, it is still full of life & adventure, it is a funny story this image. I entered it in Natex a few years ago & it got an award, well at the exhibition a lady seen it who’s husbands dad built it, she e-mailed me the history of the boat, it had worked in the Chatham islands for years then was bought by the Fowler family in Bluff as an Oyster boat, eventually it became too high in maintenance to keep it operational so it was Tied up & Forgotten. Just last year I worked with an engineer who had his first job as a marine engineer on “The Miro”.
