From a distance the shape and scale of the Eifel tower is majestic. Up close it is the scale and mass of steel pieces held together by 2.5 million rivets that got my attention. I was also reassured that, to prevent rusting, the seven yearly repaint must have taken place recently, even though it has been applied so heavily it has run.
This image of 51 rivets reminds me of the 2.5 million used in total.

  1. Its just steel and rivets but once seen it is just so much more. An interesting study on a very familar subject. Well done.

  2. I like where this series is going. Tim
