“But for me the sweetest contact with God has no form. I close my eyes, look within, and enter a deep, soft silence. The infinity of God's creation embraces me.” – Michael Jackson
What could have been a simple hike and row on a lake became so much more than that. A group endeavour to reach a common goal, rowing hard against the oncoming wind to find a lake on an island, in a lake; with a time deadline. We reached the island with so little time to stay and explore that I just sat, trying to quell the mind's insistance that the sand was slipping through the hourglass.
And a peace descended; I closed my eyes and looked within, and entered a deep soft silence. And I photographed from that place. Later, the work made itself, shaped by a new awareness of the sense of spirit, and self.
